Head Coach Matt Cartwright

Kitsap BlueJackets Head Coach Matt Cartwright

Cartwright returns for his second season as the head coach for the BlueJackets. Matt is currently the recruit coordinator at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma and played at both Redlands and Morehead State University. Cartwright also pitched for the BlueJackets one season, setting the single-season saves record. During his time at Redlands the pitching staff has been in the Top 15 in the nation in ERA. Two summers ago, Cartwright was in Washington coaching in both the Puget Sound Collegiate League and for the Thurston County Senators, giving him strong familiarity with the MACK Athletics system. He also had a stint playing for the West Coast Guns. Matt has his Master’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Assistant Coach Damon Porter

Assistant Coach Damon Porter

Porter joins Cartwright in his first season with the BlueJackets. Damon graduated for Faulkner University as a right-handed pitcher in 2012. He spent his first two years at Central Arizona and made an impact in his first season. In 15 innings, he did not allow an earned run. In his last two seasons at Faulkner, Porter started in 13 games, appearing in 41 with an ERA of 3.28. Porter logged over 118 innings with the Falcons. Porter has experience in the Pacific Northwest as an assistant coach for the West Coast Guns before joining the BlueJackets pitching staff. He also has seen time on the mound with the Guns this year, giving him a strong background of MACK Athletics.
