Familiar Faces Back with the BlueJackets

    By Mick Tidrow

The BlueJackets have announced the team will carry 16 pitchers for the 2016 season, several of which are back for their second season.

Four familiar faces are returning to the team in Colten Barnes (Pierce College), Jake Brewer (Tacoma Community College), Eli Fultz (Olympic College) and Jordan Knoll (Hawaii Pacific University). Kitsap will be introducing 12 new pitchers to the team this year, including nine players who completed their freshman campaign.

Barnes returns to the team after seeing time a year ago as a starter with the BlueJackets. The LHP tossed over 40 innings in the summer last year, with seven starts and an ERA of 2.67. During the spring this year, Barnes continued to see success, hurling 53 innings while keeping an ERA of 2.68. The efficiency has been there as well with 41 strikeouts compared to eight walks. Last year, the lefty was named to the Northwest Athletic Conference second team.
